Last updated: this document is a pre-launch draft and must be reviewed by a lawyer before the site goes live. The governing-law and dispute-resolution sections are deliberately absent until that review happens — we would rather leave a gap than publish a clause we have not had checked.
The short version: this site has no contact form, no account system and no login. The only personal information that reaches anyone is what you say out loud if you choose to call the number published here.
What this site collects automatically
Like almost every website, the server that delivers these pages records a small amount of technical information about each request: the page requested, the date and time, the browser and operating system reported by your device, the referring page if there was one, and the IP address the request came from. This is standard web-server logging. It is used to keep the site working, to detect abuse and automated scraping, and to understand which pages people find useful. It is not used to build a profile of you and it is not combined with anything you say on a phone call.
What this site does not collect
- No contact form. There is nowhere on this site to type your name, address, email or phone number. We deliberately did not build one.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to create.
- No advertising trackers. We do not run third-party advertising pixels, retargeting tags or social-media tracking scripts.
- No payment information. We never take payment from homeowners, so there is no card processing on this site at all.
Analytics
We use basic, aggregate web analytics to see which pages are read and which are ignored, so we know what to write next. We are interested in page-level totals, not in individual visitors. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, for any purpose. If you use a browser setting or extension that blocks analytics, the site works exactly the same.
Cookies
This site does not require cookies to function. Any cookie set is limited to what the analytics described above needs, and none of it is used for advertising. There is no cookie wall and no consent banner because there is nothing here that needs one.
What happens when you call
The number published on this site connects to a partner call network, which routes the call to an independent plumbing contractor covering the ZIP code you name. In the course of that call, the network and the contractor will learn whatever you tell them — typically your name, your address or ZIP code, your phone number and a description of the problem. That is information you choose to give during a call you chose to place; there is no way for us to route a plumber to you without it.
The contractor is a separate business. Once your call is connected, that contractor handles your information under its own privacy practices, which we do not set and cannot control. If you want to know how a particular contractor treats your details, ask them on the call.
Call recording and monitoring
Calls placed to the number on this site may be recorded or monitored by the partner call network for quality assurance and for billing between the network and the contractor. A number of US states require every party to a call to consent to recording, rather than just one. Where recording applies, you will be told at the start of the call, before you have said anything about your situation, and you are free to hang up at that point. We do not receive, store or listen to recordings of your calls.
We do not call you
We do not make outbound marketing calls, we do not send text messages, and we do not operate a mailing list. Every call in this system is one a homeowner placed themselves. If you receive an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be us, it is not us — and we would like to know about it at the address below.
Children
This site is written for adult homeowners and property managers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Your choices and your rights
Because we hold no account, no form submission and no marketing list, there is in practice very little for us to look up, correct or erase. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws — California among them — have statutory rights to know what is held about them, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information, and we will honour a request to know or delete to the extent anything identifiable exists on our side. Write to the address below and say what you want.
Note that a request to us does not reach the contractor you spoke to, or the partner call network. Those are separate businesses and you would need to contact them directly.
Service providers
This site is served through a commercial content delivery network, which necessarily processes request data in order to deliver pages to you and to defend the site against attack. The partner call network processes call data as described above. We do not share information with anyone else.
Retention
Server logs are kept only as long as they are useful for security and diagnostics, and are then discarded. Aggregate analytics contain no direct identifiers and are kept as a historical record of what people read.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and leave the date alone.
